In education and training the voting systems can be used to measure comprehension and understanding, in surverys they can be used to gather hard data and in consulting type assignements they can be used to help facilitate discussion of issues affecting organisations. What ever the use though, audience response systems should be seen as a data gathering tool, it is the discussion though that is generated by the group discussing the results that gives interactive voting systems their strengths.
